DFC Goal 1:
Increase and Strengthen Community Collaboration
OBJECTIVE 1
Enhance the effectiveness of the SHCC governance and processes. This objective will be measured by use of the Prevention Solutions Assessment, improving the average score by 10%*.
Strategy 1: Strengthen the Internal Capacity and leadership of SHCC
(*Baseline to be determined by survey conducted in September 2021)
OBJECTIVE 2
Increase youth coalition membership by 10% by 9/2022 as evidenced by Youth Ambassadors program membership and meeting attendance.
Strategy 1: Involve youth ages 12-17 in all phases of the Strategic Prevention Framework.
OBJECTIVE 3
Increase community participation and collaboration perceptions by 10% by 9/2022 as evidenced by event documentation.
Strategy 1: Provide targeted information across the community to increase adult membership.
DFC Goal 2:
Reduce Youth Substance Use
OBJECTIVE 1
Reduce 30 day use of alcohol by Cohasset youth ages 14-17 by 2% by 9/22 as measured by the Youth Risk Behavior Survey administered in Spring 2021 and compared to 2019 results.
Strategy 1: Provide information concerning youth social access of alcohol.
Strategy 2: Present programs to develop skills to minimize risky decision making around alcohol.
Strategy 3: Provide support by enabling people to participate in activities that reduce risk or enhance participation.
Strategy 4: Establish barriers to underage drinking or enhance access to treatment.
Strategy 5: Change consequences.(incentives/disincentives)
Strategy 6: Change physical design.
Strategy 7: Modify policies to inhibit youth alcohol use.
OBJECTIVE 2
Reduce 30 day use of marijuana by Cohasset youth ages 14-17 by 2% by 9/22 as measured by the Youth Risk Behavior Survey administered in Spring 2021 and compared to 2019 results.
Strategy 1: Provide Information to educate parents and teens about the risks of marijuana.
Strategy 2: Present programs to enhance skills/minimize risky marijuana decision making.
Strategy 3: Provide support by creating opportunities to participate in activities that reduce risk or enhance protection.
Strategy 4: Establish barriers to youth marijuana use or enhance access to treatment.
Strategy 5: Modify Policies to inhibit youth Marijuana use.
OBJECTIVE 3
Increase perception of parental disapproval of alcohol use among Cohasset youth (ages 12-17), by a 5% by 9/2022 as measured by the Youth Risk Behavior Survey administered in Spring 2021 and compared to 2019 results.
Strategy 1: Increase parental knowledge-dangers of youth substance use by providing info.
Strategy 2: Develop parent’s skill set –communications and role-modeling.
Strategy 3: Provide support by creating opportunities to participate in activities that reduce risk or enhance protection.
OBJECTIVE 4
Reduce lifetime use of non-prescribed painkillers and stimulants by Cohasset youth ages 14-17 by 1% by 9/22 as measured by the Youth Risk Behavior Survey administered in Spring 2021 and compared to 2019 results.
Strategy 1: Educate community about the inherent dangers of opioids and stimulants.
Strategy 2: Present programs to enhance skills to combat prescription drug misuse.
Strategy 3: Establish barriers to prescription drug abuse/enhance access to treatment.
