On August 31, 2022, Safe Harbor hosted our 5th Annual Candlelight Vigil, in support of International Overdose Awareness Day-a global event aiming to reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths, and acknowledge the grief felt by friends and families while raising overdose awareness.
The public was invited to join in writing loved ones names on seashells at our candle-lit remembrance table, as well as share pictures of loved ones that were displayed throughout the evening, as a way of remembering those we have lost.
There was a youth musical performance by Lizzy Power, as well as words of inspiration from Pastor Karen Bailey-Francois from Second Congregational Church, Safe Harbor Co-Chair, Annemarie Whilton, and Jim Wahlberg.
