On August 31, 2021 from 6:45-8pm Safe Harbor hosted it’s 4th Annual Candlelight Vigil, on International Overdose Awareness Day-a global event aiming to reduce the stigma of drug-related deaths, and acknowledge the grief felt by friends and families while raising overdose awareness.
Community members gathered together at Cohasset’s Town Common, to listen to words of guidance, loss and hope delivered by Selectman Keri Thompson, Pastor Karen Bailey-Francois, Molly Murphy, Deb Flannagan, Katie Boudreau, and Michael Duggan. Additional inspiration through youth performances by Lizzy Power and Madeline Clark. Family members who have lost a loved one, were invited to share pictures that were on a digital display throughout the evening.
We will remember those who have been lost to any kind of substance misuse, uplift our loved ones left behind, and acknowledge the strength and perseverance of those among us.
