On March 26, 2019, Cohasset Public Schools, CPS Safe Schools Committee, and Safe Harbor Cohasset Coalition presented a special screening of the movie Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety, to open up a dialogue between local families, community leaders and experts.
Produced to start a global conversation and raise awareness around anxiety, through candid interviews, the film tells the stories of many kids and teen, who discuss their anxiety and how it impacts their lives, relationships, and how they’ve found solutions and hope.
This film also includes a special interview with Michael Phelps, a mental health advocate and one of the greatest athletes of all-time. In addition, the documentary provides discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, along with the help, resources and tools available to address the condition.
This 56 minute movie is appropriate for adults and children grades 6 & up. Following the viewing, a panel of mental health professionals and school representatives will lead a discussion and Q & A.
