Discussion will focus on translating research findings into practical prevention efforts aimed at keeping the kids in your care healthy.

A former K-12 teacher and youth sports coach, Deirdre Flynn serves as manager of field operations for FCD Prevention Works, part of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. She joined FCD Prevention Works in 2012 as a prevention specialist, working with students, parents and school faculty and staff. Flynn holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Rutgers University and is currently enrolled in a master’s program.

Chris Usher is the Outreach Manager at Hazelden Betty Ford for New York and the surrounding areas. He received a BA in communications and Spanish from Regis University in Denver, Colorado before embarking on a 25-plus year sales and marketing career in the art publishing industry. Chris has a personal passion for recovery and has spent the past few years working as a sober companion and sober escort.
